About Me

Hi, I'm Foram. I'm a storyteller for the digital age. I love words, and I'm passionate about crafting an experience using them. I'm keenly aware of the power content has to make or break trust, evoke emotion, and spur people to action. That's why I'm here.

 

As a freelance journalist, editor, and content developer, I have 7+ years of experience in creating content and managing programs for startups, nonprofits, and online media. Clients and publications include Northwell Health, NYU Langone Health, Pratham USA, The New York Times,  Marie Claire, The Independent, The Bold Italic, Huff Post, Brown Girl Magazine, and more.

 

Some highlights of my career also include being an assistant producer for a documentary film and the assistant editor/ghostwriter for a healthcare guidebook for patients and their families. I have a penchant for health and wellness, humanitarian and environmental causes, social justice, and the arts, and I'm actively searching for ways to fuel these passions.

  • Devising the educational content strategy for three Facebook Business Tools, aligning with product teams to recommend, plan and write content for the Facebook Business Help Center and in-product education

  • Utilizing metrics, user feedback, bug reports and support cases to audit content, author new/update content,  ensuring recommendations are data-driven

  • Writing concept, task, and troubleshooting articles, partnering with product/engineers/support specialists, simplifying complex UX into easy-to-understand content for business owners, who use Facebook Business Tools to grow and manage their business

  • Project-managing content launch plans, outlining timelines, deliverables and partner feedback and ensuring stakeholders remain informed and deadlines are met

 Boost Web Content Strategist

  • Organized the launches of 41 localized regional Boost with Facebook sites across APAC, EMEA, NA + LATAM as the global managing content and CMS editor 

  • Work cross-functionally with three global teams and numerous website and content development vendors to design a streamlined process for content management.

  • Oversee and serve as the brand gatekeeper for Boost Web, including consulting on and implementing copy/content and design-related updates

  • Support all content creation efforts for major brand initiatives, such as: copywriting, wireframe builds, and HTML tagging for the Holiday Tips guide for the first-ever Holiday Bootcamp global training events.

  • Debuted Brown Boy vertical as founding editor and currently manage the first-ever all-male team of writers

  • Commissioned 2-4 monthly articles and plan content for editorial calendar, including personal essays, op-eds, service pieces, celebrity profiles, and reported articles

  • Coached writers on mechanics of effective storytelling, including refining pitches, experimenting with story structures, writing for AP Style, and writing engaging headlines

  • Attended remote editorial meetings monthly to brainstorm new content, collaborate with fellow editors and EIC, and to share learnings

  • Spearheaded the launch and managed all editorial and administrative operations for a weekly lifestyle email newsletter, acquiring 22,00+ subscribers in six months, maintaining a 26 % average open rate

  • Created and managed updates to style guide for internal and external use, ensuring all creative assets adhered to brand voice.

  • Recruited, directed, and advised a team of 20+ freelance writers across health, wellness, parenting, pregnancy, and condition-specific verticals, ensuring articles were factual and aligned with brand voice

  • Collaborated with the medical reviewer, copy edit, design, and production teams to ensure medical accuracy, adherence to brand voice, and to create original visual assets for articles

  • Implemented cross-functional processes to streamline internal and inter-department workflow

  • Co-designed a custom dashboard with the analytics team to enable laser-focused insight on key metrics, informing future strategic decisions

  • Launched content program/e-magazine TheCoLife.com, serving as managing editor to write & edit SEO-friendly content for 15 U.S. markets on topics, such as: real estate news, renters rights, roommate relationship advice, expert interviews, etc.

  • Organized and mentored 8+ freelance writers, managed editorial calendar, and published 300+ multimedia posts over one year

  • Composed and enforced editorial guidelines to align with brand voice, SEO best practices, and AP Style across all content

  •  Owned all copywriting projects for marketing creatives, including: emails, paid media, Help center, and UI/UX copy

  • Devised and executed email marketing campaigns, using A/B testing for new market launches, re-engagement, etc., maintaining a 35% average open rate and 4% CTR
